I’m always delighted to do author events. I’ve done school visits, library and bookshop events, and appeared at festivals to crowds varying from 30 children to 500. What these events involve can vary from a story time to multi-session workshops about making picture books, but they all tend to include me larking about, drawing something silly and being wildly enthusiastic about books.

Virtual Visits

You can book a virtual visit, where I can drop into your school, library or whatever literary event you’re doing through the wonder of Zoom. These visits can be customised, but a standard virtual visit would include:

• A story time

• A draw-a-long

• Q&A session

We can also add activities like:

• A drawing competition. I can provide a drawing challenge activity sheet, judge the entries and announce the winners at the visit.

• A talk about being an author and illustrator and how I make books

In-Person Visits

One of the highlights of being an author and illustrator is getting to go to new places, read my books to children and get them drawing and making stories too, so I do as many in-person visits as I can squeeze in. These visits can also be customised, but a standard in-person visit would include:

• A story time

• Interactive live drawing

• A drawing or story building activity for the children

• Q&A session
