About

Elys grew up in a place that consisted of a house, a tree and a field. She lived in the house, played in the field and occasionally fell out of the tree. Elys studied on the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, where she’s now a senior lecturer and a PhD of humour in picture books. So, she’s technically Dr Dolan of doing funny pictures.

When not making books or talking about them Elys grows keeps bees, collects pocket watches and waits for the day that someone will bake her banana bread.
